About Minar

Minar (منار, “minaret” or “beacon”) is a free website and phone app for daily Muslim practice: prayer times for any city, the Qibla direction, duas and adhkar, the Quran, 40 Hadith, a tasbih counter, a Hijri calendar and Ramadan timetables. It is built in Milton, Ontario, Canada.

Why we built it

Minar is meant to be quiet and fast: open it, see the next prayer, and get on with your day. It works offline once installed, and it doesn't need an account.

How we handle religious content

Religious text in Minar is never written or translated by AI. The Quran text, duas and hadith come from published sources, credited on the sources page. Prayer times are calculated with standard, published methods; the details, and how we checked them, are on the methodology page. When your local mosque publishes a timetable, follow your mosque.
